Based in Nuaillé (Cholet), Biowest was founded in 1987. The company launched its activity by processing and distributing animal sera and today has one of the widest range of animal sera available on the market. Biowest subsequently expanded its product range by producing cell culture media. Commitments to quality, efficiency and transparency have made Biowest a European leader and a major global player for over 10 years. In 2004, Biowest was acquired by the Viking / Serascandia group, collectors of animal by-products in Latin America ; and became the first serum company vertically integrated from raw material to finished product in Europe.
