In 2019, the European project CE4BIG – Cluster Excellence for Business Innovation and Growth in the Health Sector – was selected to receive funding (421 K€ over 24 months) under the call for proposals for the “European Cluster Excellence” initiative that aims to foster cluster collaboration on a Europe-wide scale.
Coordinated by the Atlanpole Biotherapies competitive cluster in Nantes, CE4BIG federates several healthcare clusters (BioM-Germany, BioWin-Belgium, Life Science Klaster Krakow-Poland) with the aim of promoting business growth and raising the innovation capacity of SMEs through targeted activities such as:
- providing SMEs with a more professional cluster service offer by proposing improved staff training programmes and encouraging sector professionals to share their good practices,
- distributing service vouchers to SME (max. 1100 € /SME) to organise business trips (3-30 days) aimed at cultivating cross-border collaboration with innovation stakeholders (businesses, CRO, research units, etc.) at partner clusters,
- updating partner cluster roadmaps and creating a common roadmap to future-proof the CE4BIG network.
